Kim’s Surgery & Recovery

My beyond amazing friend was in a car accident in 1999 which resulted in her needing numerous surgeries from Right shoulder reconstruction to Breast reconstruction. After years of physical therapy, her shoulder never recovered properly and a few years after the breast reconstruction, “Mystery Illnesses” & body pain started! After having  surgery for a brain aneurysm in 2014, Kim was back to work 2 days later. In 2021 after Kim was sent to Colorado Springs by Flight for Life from St.Mary Corwin Hospital here in Pueblo, she was diagnosed with severe lung issues, was placed on oxygen full time, and instead of that slowing her down, Kim got a back to pack for the oxygen tank and jumped right back in to working. Throughout all of this, among other things, no Dr or specialist could figure it out what was causing her to continue to become so severely sick, so often. No matter how many hospitalizations, tests, specialist, symptoms, and worsening symptoms, it was just something she was told she would have to live with because she was a woman who had an emergency hysterectomy at a young age, and “that’s just the way things are”!! So the pain, nausea, daily headaches, fatigue, always feeling sick has been her life for 24 years now! In November of 2023, is when it started to get even worse, one thing after another, sinus abscesses, cellulitis, mold infections, staff epidermis, Mosaic perfusion pattern of the lungs and Pericardial effusion around her heart! This is where the Dr’s finally started realizing she WAS SICK! So, more tests, more specialists, until FINALLY, there was an answer. The Breast Implants from the breast reconstruction 24 years ago have been wreaking havoc on her body this whole time. Causing such a problem that it is now so dangerous that it is even life threatening!! She has now undergone surgery yesterday, April 22, 2024, and will be out of work for at the least 2 months from both of her jobs so she needs our help.
